I won't lie- it will probably be months and months until I update again. We have been very busy with life; playing with the kiddo, making our house a home, and getting a photography business set up.
We never did buy a house; we still loosely search, but have no desire to truly settle down in this city, so that's really kept us from diving in.
I also have a dream of one day buying back my childhood home. My grandparents bought the house back in the 40's, for $17,000. We sold it in 1997, for about $180K I think, and although it's not in great condition right now, it's valued upwards of $400K. I am amazed at how high the economic bubble brought house values. Tt's just astounding.
Anyway, the people who bought it from us did some work on it (and subsequently bastardized it with "modern updates"....). And then the family hit some rocky times. Check out this story:

So now, unfortunately, my beautiful home is vacant, has been vandalized, and will continue to sit empty until the family finds some resolution I guess. I would love to one day be able to buy it back, restor it to its original splendor, and raise my kids there.
