I'm really not sure yet why I've decided to switch to blogger.com from xanga. I have a feeling it has to do with wanting to start over fresh- that old journal was full of bitterness, and I want to get away from that.
Here's some background:
-Born and raised in Oak Park, just outside Chicago.
-Moved to Cincinnati, OH for school because UC has a great architecture program.
-Now working in Cincinnati for Kroger as a store planner.
-Just recently (9/10/07) got engaged. My fiance's name is Adam. :)
Work: This job is a great opportunity for me, and I love it. I've been here since the end of July, having moved up from the call center. But now I'm starting to get bored with the work they've give me- hopefully I'll get to do a little designing soon!
Adam & Me: I know what our downfall is going to be: our mutual love for animals. Lol. We're going to end up adopting so many stray cats and whatnot that we'll end up with no place to sleep! Honestly though, he's the love of my life, and I can't imagine how boring life would be without him! We met about 3 years ago through my old roommate, and started dating two years ago December. We share a beautiful old apartment in the heart of the ghetto. (Honestly, it's a baaaad neighborhood, someone broke into Fred the other night. But it's close to campus, so it was convenient but we're on the hunt for a real home.)
Fred: Hehehe.. Fred is my truck. He's a 1988 Ford Ranger, manual transmission, with lots and lots of rust spots. I adopted Fred from my dad 3 years ago, which was a good idea in theory, but Fred likes to break down. But hey, he stands out so I can always find him in parking lots! Now, if I could just get that gas gauge working again....
Frodo, Harley and Bubbles: Our cats. Frodo is a 2 1/2 year old black angora cat, and he is very prissy. Harley is a 5 year old calico, and she's such a sweetheart, although she spooks very easily! Bubbles is a 1 year old pure white cat, and the most recent, though not necessarily permanent, addition to our clan. Bubbles (we haven't really decided on her name, but we found her in the parking lot of the laundromat) has clearly been through some trama- she does not like anyone or anything at the moment, other than food. We're working with her, trying to acclimate her to our apartment. (Our apartment, by the way, is much to small for 3 cats!!!)
Jess: The bestfriend. She's amazing, what else can I say? We love watching SATC, Big Love, Felicity, and other girly TV shows. She's flippin hilarious when she gets drunk, and she is always there to support me (sober or not).
Micha: The Big Sister. We did not get along to save our lives until we both moved away from home. Go figure! I've only recently begun to realize what a great person she is, and I wish I had known sooner. (I threw a rock at her head when we were dropping her off for her freshman year of college... but what can you expect after two days in an overloaded station wagon??)
There will be more characters added as life goes on, but that should give you a basic overview. :)
